South Florida company provides meals for dogs

This is “Small Bites,” a South Florida Sun Sentinel feature with little tidbits about the food and beverage scene — because we know sometimes you just don’t have room for a long article. You will instead have a small newsletter, a fun collection of information, if you will. Enjoy!

WHAT:

New Loxahatchee-based brand Totus Pet Food wants to make your dog sound.

Launched earlier this month, it offers personalized subscription plans with mutt meals made with meat, fruit and vegetables, including 100% certified Angus Beef, organic chicken liver, pumpkin, carrot, kale, blueberries and bananas. The food is delivered fully cooked and ready to serve. Delivery is available throughout Florida

“We’re seeing tremendous demand from owners who love their dogs and want to provide them with healthy, fresh food options that will overall lead to a happier and healthier pet,” says Totus Pet Food co-founder Michael Gray. “Their dogs are part of their family.”

Gray and business partner Robert Collorafi — both pet owners — consulted with veterinarians, nutritionists and chefs when developing their special formulas, according to the website.

COST:

The average cost is $200 to $250 per month. Totus Pet Food is offering 50% off the first month.
