An East Bay restaurant got an unexpected celebrity reservation this week. Oakland-born actress Zendaya appeared to be in town for the upcoming vacation, as she and “Spider-Man” co-star and boyfriend Tom Holland visited Zendaya’s former school, the Oakland School of the Arts.
NBC Bay Area first reported the celebrity sighting, followed by excited fans posting on social media.
SFGATE confirmed that Zendaya and Holland later dined at Batch & Brine in Lafayette. While the restaurateur declined to comment on what the star couple enjoyed during their booking, an employee told SFGATE that the couple did dine at the restaurant.
“Our vibrant menu offers out-of-the-box burgers, sandwiches, shareable plates, salads and amazing weekend brunches,” reads the Batch & Brine website.
Batch & Brine has a large family of owners that includes siblings Mike, Rolla and David Ghaben; cousins Sam Ghaben and Celina Gonzales; and their son Vi Ktogaben.
Batch & Brine combines flavors from New Mexico, the Mediterranean, and California. Celebrity couple Zendaya and Tom Holland visited Lafayette earlier this week.
