Two youths and a 16-year-old boy were killed in two separate traffic accidents in Visakhapatnam and Anakapali districts on Monday night.

In one incident, two diploma students died after their two-wheeler allegedly hit a tree near Yadava Jaggurajupeta under the Duvvada police station restrictions on Monday night. The incident came to light on Monday night after police filed a case.

The deceased were identified as M Venkata Satyasai Kiran (20 years old) and V Harichandra Prasad (20 years old), both from the Yadava Jaggurajupeta district.

According to Duvvada police, the youth was driving home when the accident happened near the Autonagar Railway wagon workshop. Based on evidence at the scene of the accident, police suspect speeding may have been the cause. The duo could not be driving a high-end bike at good speed, crashing into a tree, then a post, and falling to the side of the road.

According to police, an autopsy report could determine whether the pair were intoxicated.

Kiran and Prasad, childhood friends, are studying for their diplomas. The accident that happened in Kanuma that day made the family members and local people feel overwhelmed.

Duvvada Police have opened a case. Further investigation is ongoing.

In another case, a 16-year-old boy died in an accident on Monday after his two-wheeler was allegedly hit by a car from behind on the NH-16 road in Nakkapalli, Anakapalli district.

The deceased was identified as Kakinada resident Sheikh Zubaid (16 years old).

Deputy Police Superintendent Nakkapalli PS G Sirisha said Sheikh Zubaid was the backseat rider while his family members who were driving the vehicle were injured in the accident.

Zubaid came to a relative’s house in Visakhapatnam a few days ago, possibly for the Sankranti holiday, and returned home on Monday.
