At least 155 people have been injured after two trains collided in Spain’s Catalonia region. One of the two trains was at the station when the accident happened. The police are investigating.

The Montcada i Reixac – Manresa station, which is the site of the accident, is approximately 7 miles or 12 kilometers from the city centre. About 155 people were injured and about 14 were taken to local medical centers, emergency services official Joan Carles Gomez told reporters.

He said the injuries were minor and not serious. Doctors were examining passengers to rule out any major injuries, he added. He said the train was moving slowly but standing passengers fell and were injured. A regional fire service spokesman said the moving train hit the stationary train from behind. The accident disrupted train traffic and one passenger said they were devastated by the screams of people.
