Kosciuszko County
Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following incidents:
- Sunday, December 18 at 7:33 p.m., North East Wawasee Drive, south of East CR 1400N, Syracuse. Driver: Magdeline A. Weaver, 33, South Cavin Street 1, Ligonier. Weaver was traveling north on North East Wawasee Drive when a deer entered the roadway. Losses up to $5,000.
- Saturday, December 17 at 2:14 a.m., US 30, west of SR 13 South, Pierceton. Driver: Jason A. Carnes, 40 North Cherry Street, Hartford. Kearns was traveling eastbound on U.S. Route 30 when his vehicle’s left front wheel came off. Losses up to $2,500.
- Saturday, December 17 at 1:14 am South Pacton Road just south of CR 700S in Warsaw East. Driver: Unknown. A vehicle registered to Elkhart Alan Murillo was found on the road to the right of Paxton Road. Its driver left the scene. Losses up to $2,500.
- Friday, December 16 at 10:33pm, West CR 600N, north of North Old SR 15, Warsaw. Driver: Lucas E. Hamann, 27, 4th Street, Colona, Ill. Hamann was traveling east on West CR 600N when his vehicle left the lane. Losses up to $5,000.
- Friday, December 16th at 9:28pm, South Paxton Road, near Warsaw East CR 400S. Driver: Jamison D. Wyatt, 18 South Buffalo Street, Warsaw. Wyatt was driving north on Paxton Road when his vehicle skidded and left the lane. Losses up to $5,000.
- Friday, December 16 at 8 p.m., South SR 25, west of South CR 600W, Mentone. Rider: Tamara L. Rose, 54, West SR 25, Mentone. Rose was driving on SR 25 when her vehicle left the driveway and hit a tree head-on. Losses up to $2,500.
- Friday, December 16, 7:58 pm, North Zimmer Street, near Westlake Street, Warsaw. Driver: Savannah A. Shepherd, 19, Mars Drive, Elkhart. Shepherd was traveling eastbound on West Lake Street when her vehicle skidded on the ice and hit the concrete median at the entrance to the roundabout. Losses up to $2,500.
- Friday, December 16 at 7:57 pm, West Old Road 30, west of West Lake Street, Warsaw. Riders: Brian A. De La Cruz, 22, West CR 300N, Warsaw; and Gary R. Howell, 70, West CR 200N, Warsaw. De La Cruz rear-ended Howell’s vehicle while traveling eastbound on West Old Road 30. No injuries were reported. Losses of up to $25,000.
- Friday, December 16, 7:31pm, North Forks Farm Road, near West Lake Street, Warsaw. Driver: Steven A. Lane, 34 Logan Street, Warsaw. Lane was traveling south on Fox Farm Road when his vehicle left the road and slid into the roundabout. Losses up to $2,500.
- Friday, December 16 at 6:20pm, West Old Road 30, near West CR 100N, Warsaw. Driver: Sue L. Shively, 81, North CR 350W, Warsaw. Shively was traveling eastbound on Old Road 30 when her vehicle left the road and struck a barrier. Losses up to $5,000.
- Friday, December 16 at 6:11pm, US 30, west of CR 250S East, Pearseton. Driver: Elias C. Cruz Hernandez, 43 East Stalf Road, Columbia. Cruz Hernandez’s vehicle was traveling on US-30 East when it left the lane. Losses up to $5,000.
- Friday, December 16 at 5:57 pm, South SR 15, south of West Union Street, Warsaw. Rider: Seth D. Hamman, 39, West CR 525S, Claypool. Harman was turning north on South SR 15 when his vehicle left the driveway and hit a fence. Losses up to $2,500.
- Friday, December 16 at 5:41pm North Syracuse Webster Road just south of 1200N East CR in Syracuse. Drivers: Mark R. Katzer, 66, East Beer Road, Milford; and Sara M. Timmins, 17, East Defreese Road, Syracuse. As Katzer was traveling south on North Syracuse Webster Road, he stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of East CR 1200N. Then he entered Timmins’ travel itinerary. Timmins complained of pain in the lower part of her wrist and said she would self-check at a local hospital. Losses of up to $25,000.
- Friday, December 16, 4:21pm, US 30, west of South CR 900E, Pierceton. Driver: Genevieve A. Goldsmith, 19, 2nd Street, Winona Lake. Goldsmith was traveling eastbound on East US 30 when her vehicle slid off the road and into a ditch. Losses up to $5,000.
north webster
Officers from the North Webster Police Department investigated the following incidents:
- Friday, December 16 at 7:12 p.m. South Avenue just south of West Effie May Street in North Webster. Drivers: Gage J. Landis, 18, South Water Street, Jonesboro; and Tracy L. Gaunt, 59, South Mill Street, North Webster. Landis rear-ended Gunter’s car while driving south on South Avenue. Losses up to $5,000.
Pierston
Officers from the Pierston Police Department investigated the following incidents:
- Friday, December 16 at 5:06 pm US Highway 30 East near CR 900E in Pearceton. Driver: Kyle J. Scher, 25, South Raber Road, Columbia City. Scher was traveling eastbound on US 30 when his vehicle veered off the road and struck the Pierceton Phillips Tree Service fence. No injuries were reported. Losses up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- Sunday, December 18 at 2.15pm, US 30, near Anchorage Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Vicki R. Semonis, 62, South Michigan Street, Argos; and Lindsey A. Corbett, 36, Sutherland Lane, South Bend. Semonis rear-ended Corbett’s vehicle while traveling west on US 30. No injuries were reported. Losses up to $10,000.
- Saturday, December 17th, 7:34pm, SR 15, near Wayneburg Street East, Warsaw. Drivers: Jaiden E. Bush, 18, 6th Street, Winona Lake; and Fernando De Santos Macias, 34, Aspenwald Avenue, Elkhart. Bush was trying to make a left turn west on East Fort Wayne Street when she pulled up in front of DeSantos Macias’ car. No injuries were reported. Losses of up to $25,000.
- Saturday 17 December at 10.17am, Wexford Place near Pioneer Lane, Warsaw. Driver: Victor Vuong, 34 years old, Kuder Lane, Warsaw. Vuong was traveling north on Wexford Place when his vehicle went off the road and hit landscape rock. Losses up to $5,000.
- Saturday, December 17 at 10:14 am, SR 15, north of Lyon Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Susan R. Heckaman, 61, South Country Club Road, Warsaw; and Janet Chavez, 35 South Washington Street, Warsaw. Heckaman was traveling north on SR 15 when her vehicle merged into Chavez’s lane. Hekaman crashed into Chavez’s vehicle and continued north. Hekaman was later arrested for leaving the scene of the accident. No injuries were reported. Losses up to $10,000.
- Friday, December 16 at 9:56 pm, US 30, near East Center Street, Warsaw. Driver: Hyun J. Roh, 29 Kenny Road, Columbus, Ohio. Roh was traveling west on US 30 when his vehicle skidded and left the lane. No injuries were reported. Losses of up to $25,000.
- Friday, December 16, 9:06 pm, US 30, east of Warsaw East Center Street. Driver: Briane A. Hardin, 35, Baxter Street, Fort Wayne. Harding was traveling westbound on US 30 when his vehicle skidded and left the road, rolling onto the road. Harding said he hit his head in the accident and was treated by paramedics at the scene. Losses up to $10,000.
- Friday, December 16 at 8.25pm, SR 15, near Jalynn Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Lizbeth L. Ahuatl, 30, East CR 200N 205, Warsaw; and Ann M. Littlejohn, 49, North Conner Court, Milford. Ahuatl was heading south on SR 15 when her vehicle skidded through the intersection and West CR 250N. Ahuatl’s car was hit by Littlejohn’s car as her car slid through the intersection. No injuries were reported. Losses of up to $25,000.
- Friday, December 16 at 6:46 pm, SR 15, near Jalynn Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Susan R. Puckett, 67, Delmar Court, Warsaw; and Todd M. Ryan, 55, Briar Ridge Circle, Warsaw. As Puckett was driving east on Jalynn Street, she didn’t notice she was in the wrong lane because of the snow. Puckett ignored a red light on North Detroit Street and was hit by Ryan’s car. No injuries were reported. Losses up to $10,000.
winona lake
Officers from the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following incidents:
- Friday, December 16 at 11:55am, Kings Highway, east of Argonne Road, Winona Lake. Driver: Timothy R. Rogers, 56, Orchard Drive, Lake Winona. Rogers was traveling eastbound on the Kings Highway when he struck 13-year-old Nicholas Ruttenberg of Lake Winona. Rodgers and a witness said Ruttenberg crashed into the road in front of him. Rotenberg said he did look for traffic, but didn’t see Rogers’ vehicle approaching because a large tree was within his line of sight. Ruttenberg was taken by his parents to a local hospital after complaining of pain in his right leg and a bruise on the right side. Losses up to $2,500.
- Thursday, December 15 at 6:29 p.m. East Winona Blvd north of Agung Road, Lake Winona. Drivers: Paige N. Lantz, 17, Fall Creek Drive, Goshen; and Nicole M. Smith, 52, East Legacy Lane, Winona Lake. Lantz was traveling south on Argonne Road when Lanz entered the roundabout and hit Smith’s vehicle. Losses up to $5,000.
