Accident reports continued to pile up Thursday morning as snowfall made the Omaha subway slick. As of 7:00 a.m., nine weather-related crashes were reported in Sarpi County. Omaha police are also responding to crashes across the city. A three-vehicle crash was reported on southbound I-680 near Pacific Street. Other crashes were reported near Interstate 80 near 108th Street, 84th Street, 72nd Street and Giles Road. There were also crashes at 132nd and L Streets, Harrison and Giles Streets, 90th and Q Streets, and 84th and Schram Streets. Council Bluffs Police also issued a warning, sharing photos of city streets quickly covered in light snow. There was also a crash on westbound I-80 near the Madison Avenue exit. In western Nebraska, the Nebraska Patrol reminded drivers that Interstate 80 west of North Platte remained closed due to this week’s snowstorm. NDOT is working around the clock to reopen roads.
