Rajasthan left-arm seamer Khaleel Ahmed has revealed that he will miss most of the 2022-23 Ranji Trophy due to a medical condition.
The 25-year-old’s last appearance came against Mumbai in the Saeed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in Saurashtra on October 18. He scored 1/47 on four pitches. Ahmed has suffered multiple injury problems over the past few years and finds himself on the sidelines once again.
On Monday, December 12, the left-armed player used his official Twitter account to share a photo of him in a hospital bed. Along with the pictures, he also wrote:
“Dear everyone, it is difficult to stay away from cricket, which is unfortunate, but due to my medical condition, I will miss most of the upcoming Ranji season. I am on the road to recovery and once deemed fit, I will Back around. I appreciate all the wishes.”

Khaleel Ahmed’s IPL 2022 campaign looks impressive
Ahmad has taken 16 wickets in 10 matches for Delhi Capitals (DC) during the Indian Premier League (2022) season. He averaged 19.69 with a best finish of 3/25. However, the Pacers did miss a few games due to a hamstring injury.
Throughout his IPL career, Ahmad played 34 matches where he took 48 wickets at an average run of 22.94 and an economy rate of 8.49. His best season so far came in 2019 when he took 19 wickets in 11 strikes in nine appearances for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
The left-arm medium pacer has represented India in 11 ODIs and 14 T20Is, taking 15 and 13 wickets respectively. He made his national team debut in a one-day match against Hong Kong, China in September 2018 and last represented the national team in a T20I match against Bangladesh in Nagpur in November 2019.
The promising bowler has hit 6 First Class and 50 Class A matches, taking 11 and 73 scalps respectively. He has more experience in the T20 format, taking 107 wickets at an average of 23.46 in 82 matches. Ahmed even had 5 wickets in his T20 career.
