most people know Jeremy Renner For his portrayal of the superhero Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe — not to mention his Oscar-nominated turn in the film small town and The Hurt Locker— and many of his action roles, which often put his characters in harm’s way. But the A-list actor was recently taken to intensive care after being injured in real life while operating a snowplow at his home near Reno, Nevada. Now Rainer’s sister has learned about his recovery after the traumatic accident. Read on to learn more about the actor’s injury and how he’s doing now.

Rainer was critically injured while helping a family member whose car was stuck in snow.
According to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, Renner was seeing off family members on New Year’s Day after hosting a celebration the night before. When one of their cars got stuck in the thick snow that had fallen the day before, the actor set out to try and help them with some heavy machinery, people reports.
“Mr. Renner went to retrieve his PistenBully or SnowCat – an oversized piece of snow removal equipment weighing at least 14,330 lbs – in an attempt to get his vehicle moved. On Jan. 5, Renner posted a short video clip to his Instagram Story of another light-hearted update from his sister, kemrenamassaging his head while their mother smiled and watched, people reports. “Spa moment in the ICU lifts me up,” he wrote in the video. “Thank you mom, thank you sister, thank you all for your love.”
Since then, Rainer has also expressed his gratitude to the hospital staff, posting a photo on his Instagram Story on Jan. 6 of his caregivers surrounding him and thanking them support.

Now Rainer’s sister has learned of his recovery after the horrific accident.
As of Jan. 11, Reiner was still in the hospital and still recovering — even celebrating his 52nd birthday on Jan. 7 while recuperating. But the actor’s sister also took the time to speak about his recovery after the horrific accident, highlighting his unwavering spirit.
“We’re really excited about his progress,” Reyna’s sister Kym told people“If anyone knows Jeremy, he’s a fighter and doesn’t mess around. He’s smashing all the progressive goals. We feel very positive about the road ahead.”
Some of Renner’s prominent colleagues and friends also wished the star a speedy recovery.
