On Friday, November 18, 2022 at 7:07 pm, Spencer County Deputy Sheriff Benjamin Nanney responded to a vehicle accident on State Rd 545. When the accident happened, the weather was cloudy and the road was dry. After the vehicle arrives, a white 2001 Dodge Q15 is parked on the left side of the field. On Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 6:18 a.m., Spencer County Deputy Damian Williams responded to a vehicle accident at the intersection of N 5th St and Sycamore St. At the time of the accident, the weather was clear and the road was in good, dry condition. Upon arrival, Deputy Williams observed a white Chevrolet Cruze (Crew 2) with severe damage to the front end and a red GMC Sierra (Crew 1) with significant damage to the passenger side. He spoke to the driver of the Chevy Cruz, Melissa McCoy of Rockport, who advised her to drive south through the intersection when the GMC failed to yield the right-of-way and turned left in front of her. The front of her car hit the passenger side of the truck. Melissa McCoy complained of tingling/pain in her legs and ringing in her ears from air bag deployment. EMS arrived at the scene to evaluate her and transport her to Owensboro, where she was treated at their hospital. As the white Chevrolet Cruze continued through the intersection and hit the side of his truck, Deputy Williams spoke to the GMC driver, who advised him to turn left on the green light.
