The Memphis Grizzlies (30-13) extend their season-best winning streak to 10 games with a 136-106 win over the Phoenix Suns (21-24) as the team hosts the 21st annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration Contest.

Memphis is on course for just the second double-digit winning streak in franchise history after its 11-game winning streak set last season. It was the NBA’s longest active winning streak and the league’s second double-digit winning streak this season, joining the Brooklyn Nets’ 12-game winning streak.

Ja Morant Scored 29 points and 7 assists, and Desmond Bain He scored 28 points on 10-of-12 shooting to lead the Grizzlies, who had the highest total and widest margin in tournament history. Memphis also has the most wins in its 101-game total series against Phoenix.

Despite the absence of key contributors, Phoenix outscored Memphis 36-29 after the first quarter but trailed 107-70 over the final three quarters. The Grizzlies outscored the Suns 39-23 in the third quarter and 68-41 after halftime.

Memphis shot 53.1 percent from the field and 43.2 percent from three-point range, tying franchise records for its third straight game with at least 130 points. The Grizzlies became the first team since the Los Angeles Lakers in 1985 to post a 10-game winning streak and score at least 115 points per game, and only the fourth team in NBA history to accomplish the feat in a single season, joining Lakers (1985), Denver Nuggets (1982, 1983) and Boston Celtics (1959).

The Grizzlies will have a chance to tie their team’s winning streak when they host the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. on FedExForum. Fans can tune in to Bally Sports Southeast or tune in to 92.9 FM ESPN.
