Georgia fan Sam Cramer and his 7-year-old grandson Camdin will forever remember their heartfelt encounter with Bulldogs offensive lineman Devin Willock.
Hours before Willock’s tragic death in a car crash, the athlete joined the Bulldogs’ celebration in Georgia on Saturday, days after the team beat TCU 65-7 in the national title game. Kramer recalled to ABC affiliate WJCL how he discovered Willock at a local institution, much to the awe of the young Camdin.
“I just gave him a fist bump. I said, ‘Hey Devon, congratulations on what happened. He turned around and saw Camdyn sitting there, and Camdyn was looking at him with wide eyes,” Kramer said.

Moments later, Willock gave Camdin the chance to try on his championship ring.
“I remember just telling Camdyn, ‘Hey, you got one. But he got the real deal. So without even stopping or flinching, Devin took the ring off and handed it to Camdyn, and said,’ I’d love to see what you look like in the ring,'” said Cramer, a longtime Bulldogs supporter.
Kramer took to twitter Sharing a collection of interactive photos on Saturday, wrote: “Special thanks to @DevinWillock for taking time out of my grandson’s time when he didn’t need it. You went out of your way to make him feel special and you made his day! Best of luck for next year! Go Come on guys!

Willock then responded to Kramer’s message by posting three red heart emojis.
Willock, a redshirt sophomore from New Jersey, died after being involved in a fatal car crash early Sunday morning, along with Georgia staff member Chandler LeCroy. Willock, 20, died at the scene, while Lecco, 24, died at a local hospital.
Two unnamed members of the team were also involved in the incident and are in stable condition, Fox 5 Atlanta reported Sunday.

“We are all devastated by the loss of Devin Willock and Chandler LeCroy,” Georgia coach Kirby Smart said in a statement.
“Devin was an outstanding young man in every way. He was always smiling, a great teammate and a pleasure to coach. Chandler was a valuable member of our football staff and he Every day brings incredible attitude and energy. We mourn this tragic loss with their families and will support them in every way possible.”
