Georgia Offensive lineman Devin Willock and Bulldogs staffer Chandler LeCroy were killed in a car accident early Sunday morning in Athens, Georgia. Two other passengers were injured in connection with the project, the school confirmed. Willock was 20 years old at the time.
“Families across Georgia are devastated by the tragic loss of football student athlete Devin Willock and football staff member Chandler LeCoy,” the school said in a statement. “Two other members of the football program “Injured in the accident. They are currently in a stable condition and we will continue to monitor their condition with medical staff.
“Devon and Chandler are two special individuals who mean so much to the University of Georgia, our football program and athletic department. We ask everyone to pray for their families during this very difficult time.”
Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart also released a statement mourning the loss of Willock and LeCroy.

He was always smiling, a fantastic teammate and a pleasure to coach. Chandler was a valuable addition to our football staff, He brings incredible attitude and energy every day. Willock, a redshirt sophomore from New Jersey, has been a backup on the offensive line all season. He started just two times for the Bulldogs this year but has played in every game. LeCroy joined the program as a recruiting analyst after graduating from Georgia State. She has been with the school since 2016 and has been in the soccer program since 21.
According to Athens-Clarke County Police, the crash was a single-vehicle accident around 2:45 a.m. Sunday, when the car left the road and appeared to hit two utility poles and multiple trees, according to ESPN. Police said LeCroy was driving and was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead from her injuries and Willock died at the scene. Other passengers, a 21-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, were also injured.
