Five people were injured in an accident at the intersection of East US 30 and East Van Ness Road in Warsaw on Wednesday.

According to an incident report from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, Madelyn M. Prescott, 19, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo at 3:43 p.m. Wednesday through the intersection heading north on East Van Ness Road.

Stephen M. Long, 37, of Columbia, driving a 2013 Cadillac XTS was driving east on US Route 30, near East Van Ness Road.

Prescott allegedly did not yield to Long’s vehicle, the report said. Long was unable to avoid the collision and crashed into Prescott’s vehicle. The collision caused Long’s vehicle to hit a give-way sign in the middle.

Prescott suffered a fracture-dislocation of the elbow/lower arm. Chronic complaints of elbow/lower arm pain. Passengers in Long’s vehicle, Chandra L. Murphy, 23, East US 30, Pierceton; Kendall A. Murphy, 4, East US 30, Pierceton; and Kinsleigh R. Murphy, 1, East US 30, Pierceton, facial All had slight bleeding.

Losses are estimated at $10,000 to $25,000.
