The Hayward Police Department reported a fatal pedestrian accident on Mannon Avenue and Harris Road on the morning of Wednesday, December 7, 2022. The incident happened at about 7:50 a.m., officials said.

Hayward Police Department officers responded to reports of a vehicle-pedestrian collision at the intersection of Mannon Avenue and Harris Road. Officers located a pedestrian, an 82-year-old woman, under a car. Tragically, she was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.
The driver involved allegedly left the scene on foot before officers arrived and returned a short time later, according to the Hayward Police Department. Authorities said the driver is cooperating with the investigation. The investigation into the incident is ongoing and no additional information is available about the Hayward vehicle-pedestrian fatality.
