Maryland State Police are investigating two fatal crashes Wednesday morning on Interstate 95 in Harford County. At approximately 6:45 a.m., police received a report of a five-vehicle collision on Maryland Route 543 northbound on I-95 in Belcamp. Investigators said a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse was traveling north on I-95 when it crossed the yellow line in the left lane and hit two tractor-trailers over the left shoulder. The Chevrolet then swerved back on the road and was hit by another tractor-trailer. The driver of the Chevrolet, Caprice N. Davis, 27, of Elizabeth, New Jersey, died at the scene. The second crash occurred at around 8:35 a.m. on I-95 north of Maryland Route 24 in Edgewood, police said. A 2021 Subaru Forester was traveling northbound on I-95 when the driver rear-ended a dump truck, investigators said. She died instantly. I-95 north was closed for about five hours due to the crash. The cause of each crash is still under investigation.
