Taiwanese actor Ke Qidong was seriously injured after being hit by a drone on the set of a new Netflix series. The actor’s agent reported that the accident required 20 to 30 stitches on the star’s face.

According to reports, the drone malfunctioned and exploded in front of the actors, sending debris everywhere. His agent confirmed to Taiwanese media that Ke suffered “serious disfigurement” and is recovering after needing as many as 30 stitches.
However, the show’s producers, Singapore’s mm2 Asia and Taiwan’s Good Films Production, insisted the report was inaccurate.
in the statement type, the production team explained that standard safety protocols were followed during filming. The drone’s propeller blades were shielded by a “protective layer” and “no explosion or blade shattering occurred”.
The production team’s statement added:
We are deeply sorry that the accident left Kay with an injured cheek. Kai sought medical attention immediately, and his talent management team arranged for a microsurgery. The production team deeply apologizes for the incident and is investigating the matter further. We temporarily stopped filming starring Kai to give him time to rest and recover. We look forward to having him back on set once he fully recovers.

While Netflix has yet to comment on the accident, the streaming service did send Ko a care package on Wednesday, as the actor’s Instagram Story feed shows. Meanwhile, production of the scene without Ko has resumed.
