After Devin Willock died in a car crash in the early hours of January 15, photos showing the footballer’s kindness to young fans have gone viral.
On Jan. 14, the day before Willock’s fatal crash, Twitter user Sam Kramer shared a heartwarming photo of the Bulldogs player stopping to take a photo with his grandson.
“Special thanks to @DevinWillock for taking time with my grandson when he wasn’t necessary,” Kramer wrote“You went out of your way to make him feel special and you made his day!! Best of luck for next year! Go for it guys!
In the photo, Willock smiled and took a photo with the boy and asked him to try on his championship ring.

Willock, a former defensive lineman for the Georgia Bulldogs, died Sunday at the age of 20 in a car accident in Athens, Georgia.
The driver of the car, Chandler LeCroy, a 24-year-old recruiting analyst, also died of his injuries.
Just hours before his death, Willock had been celebrating back-to-back national titles with the Bulldogs.
“We are all heartbroken and devastated by the loss of Devon Willock and Chandler LeCroy,” coach Kirby Smart said in a statement. Twitter. “Devin is an outstanding young man in every way. Always smiling, a fantastic teammate and a pleasure to coach.”
Two other unnamed members of the Georgia football program were injured in the crash and are in stable condition on Jan. 15, the Bulldogs said in a statement Sunday. Twitter.
Police are still determining the cause of the crash, according to the Associated Press.
“The entire Georgia family is devastated by the tragic loss of football student athlete Devin Willock and football staff member Chandler LeCroy,” the team said in its Twitter statement.
“Devon and Chandler are two special individuals who mean so much to the University of Georgia, our football program and athletic department. We ask everyone to pray for their families during this very difficult time.”
