A family member told KOAT on Sunday that an initial examination of the child showed no serious injuries, but the situation is still being assessed. The family also thanked first responders for their work after the accident. An Alamogordo police spokesman said the incident occurred just before 6:15 p.m. Saturday. The parade route was heading west in the 1000 block of East 10th Street when children tried to board the float. The child was pinned by the tire and partially run over. The child was later taken to a hospital in El Paso.
