Basking Ridge, NJ — Alpha Fit Club (AFC) Basking Ridge has officially opened in Riverwalk Village on the Bridgewater border.
The boutique fitness group is owned by Fanwood’s Sara Carlesimo and Florham Park’s Elizabeth Roseman, who met in a mums group.
The pair have a lot in common. Both are mothers of newborns, both are lawyers, and both share a passion for fitness. Starting the Alpha Fit Club was a no-brainer for Carlesimo and Roseman.
“Fitness has always been our passion and our number one priority,” Carlesimo and Rothman said.
Carlesimo is an attorney and senior manager in the financial services industry and a former bisport collegiate athlete.
“I learned early on the importance of fitness training from a mental and physical standpoint. After college, I showed dedication and interest in fitness, training for triathlons as a form of relaxation,” Carlesimo said.
Roseman is an executive compensation attorney who now leads the global HR compensation and benefits strategy for a financial services firm.
“I’m also a former gymnast, personal trainer and recorded super taster with a love of good food and happy hour,” Rothman said. “Loves to challenge anyone to a handstand!”
Both said they wanted to “demonstrate to their children the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and habits, including a consistent fitness routine.”
Discussions with AFC about opening a franchise location began about a year ago.

Basking Ridge’s newly designed 4,000-square-foot studio had its grand opening last Saturday. Built by Shoreline East Construction Corp, the studio features full-service locker rooms, collaboration spaces, and a juice and snack bar.
This is the first franchise for Carlesimo and Roseman, and their second AFC location will open in February 2023 at the Princeton Mall.
Alpha Fit Club is the premier group fitness training program for all fitness levels. The circuit-style concept combines total-body strength training with high-intensity cardio. Members rotate through six stations in duty packs of four, challenging themselves for six minutes at each station.
