Car Accidents in Missouri

Every year, thousands of people in Missouri are seriously injured after car crashes. There have been many instances of cars being rear-ended while driving on our roads. The rear-end crashes we’ve seen in Missouri have multiple causes. Some leading ones include:

  • Distracted driving: When drivers are not paying attention to the road ahead, they are more likely to rear-end the car in front of them. Distractions can include anything from cell phones and GPS devices to simple daydreams.
  • Mechanical issues: In some cases, accidents occur not through the fault of the driver, but due to mechanical issues with the car itself. When the brakes fail, the accelerator sticks, or other mechanical issues arise, it can result in a devastating rear-end collision.
  • Speeding: Driving too fast in weather and road conditions is one of the leading causes of accidents, especially in rear-end collisions. A speeding driver may not be able to stop in time to avoid a collision. When speeding is combined with bad weather, the chances of being able to stop and avoid a crash are even less.
  • Following too closely: A driver who is too close to the car in front may not have time to stop if he brakes suddenly. To avoid a collision, it is crucial to leave space between the vehicles in front of you.
