UPDATE (4:53 p.m.) – According to Peoria County Emergency Communications, Route 150 has reopened to normal traffic in both directions.

UPDATE (2:38 p.m.) — New details are emerging about the victims involved in a fatal car crash in Peoria County Sunday morning.

Emergency responders found three vehicles when they arrived on the scene, according to a release from the Peoria Fire Department. The first vehicle (a small sedan) contained an adult and a child, neither of whom responded. Adults were declared dead. Brimfield firefighters used Jaws to free the child from the vehicle, while Peoria Fire paramedics assisted the ambulance as it carried the child to hospital.

The second vehicle (a large sedan) had an adult patient en route to the hospital being treated by Peoria Fire Paramedics at the scene and in an ambulance. The vehicle caught fire and was extinguished by Peoria firefighters.

A passenger in the third vehicle, a pickup truck, was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

According to the release, the Peoria Fire Department, Brimfield Fire Department, Advanced Medical Transportation, Peoria Police Department, Peoria County Sheriff’s Department and Illinois State Police are involved in the response.

Peoria County (25 News Now) – One person died and two others were hospitalized after a crash involving three different vehicles late Sunday morning.

According to a release from the Illinois State Police, officers responded to a three-vehicle collision on War Memorial Boulevard near Koerner Road in Peoria County around 10:30 a.m. One person was pronounced dead and two were taken to an area hospital with injuries. It is not yet known the extent of their injuries.

The intersection of War Memorial and Koerner is partially closed. All traffic is routed from westbound Rt 150 to southbound Koerner. Northbound Koerner is able to travel west on Rt 150. No traffic is traveling east from the intersection. War Memorial Drive is closed to westbound traffic at Orange Prairie.

Illinois State Police are currently responding to the incident. Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said a statement from his office will be released soon.
