Humble and friendly volunteers pack 100,000 meals for people in need
Dozens of volunteers at Humble and Kind spent their Saturday afternoon packing 100,000 meals for people in need. The charity is working with the Open Door Mission to distribute the food over the next year. An ODM official said the boost in meals is helping as demand is increasing. “Food insecurity is huge in Omaha and our area. So this is a really big deal for the people that Humble and Kind serves and the people that Open Door Mission serves, that they’re able to get more meals because the kids is going to be out of school soon, which means two extra meals per child per day,” said Amy Harvey, ODM’s chief community relations officer. The Open Door Mission said it is always in need of volunteers — you can visit opendoormission.org to sign up. latest headlines from KETV NewsWatch 7
