The FIFA U-20 World Cup 2023 in Argentina sees young talent from 24 national teams spanning six confederations compete in the underage showpiece from 20 May to 11 June.
The FIFA U-20 World Cup 2023 follows the same format as recent editions, with the 24 teams divided into six groups of four teams.
The top two teams from each group automatically advance to the knockout stage, as well as the four best third-placed teams.
The groups at Argentina FIFA U20 World Cup 2023:
Group A: Argentina, Uzbekistan, Guatemala, New Zealand
Group B: USA, Ecuador, Fiji, Slovakia
Group C: Senegal, Japan, Israel, Colombia
Group D: Italy, Brazil, Nigeria, Dominican Republic
Group E: Uruguay, Iraq, England, Tunisia
Group F: France, Republic of Korea, Gambia, Honduras
The positions for the best third-placed teams are determined first by points, then goal difference, then goals scored and then fair play points. If the teams are still tied across all these criteria, lots will be drawn.
The FIFA U-20 World Cup will be played in four cities in Argentina: Santiago del Estero, San Juan, La Plata and Mendoza.
Both the final match and third place will be played in La Plata on 11 June.
