That’s how Cruz found Atlas Liga MX Womenthe best women’s league in Mexico.
“I have already been following Liga MX Femenil for a while. I had some friends and teammates come here to play,” Cruz told exclusively The Equalizer, via Zoom. “Since the beginning, I knew that the league would grow and grow every year. Mexico has a great talent with women who play soccer. I am really happy that the country is developing such a good league. I wanted to come to Mexico to play , because I know the level here is good. I know there is growth with every tournament.”
In his first season with the Atlas, Cruz has cemented himself as a regular starter, starting 14 of 15 regular season contests. She and Atlas are currently in the Liguilla and qualify for the playoffs in seventh place. Cruz stated that the club and her experience in Mexico have so far exceeded her expectations.
