ARLINGTON, Texas – Arlington ISD has announced it is participating in a program that connects local children with free meals for the summer.
The district announced Monday, May 22 that they will offer free breakfast and lunch under the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). Meals will be available for children age 18 and younger and enrolled students with disabilities up to age 21.
From June 5, certain schools will provide meals on weekdays. Primary and secondary schools under the program will provide food until June 30. Secondary schools will have meals available until July 28.
There are three ways to find a place to eat near you, even if you’re outside of Arlington:
- Call 2-1-1 to speak with a live operator
- Text the word “MAD” or “COMIDA” to 304-304
- Use the site locator map at SummerFood.org
If you use the online card, be sure to insert an “Enter date” for when the meal program is active. For example, when searching for an Arlington ISD location, enter a date between June 5th and July 28th.
